Went to see Juan Pablo Villalobos at the fantastic Mr B's last night. Villalobos is published by the interesting http://www.andotherstories.org/ who have published the translations of his first book Down the rabbit hole and his second Quesadillas
The event in Bath was a lot of fun - there were songs by the Bookshop band, there was great food from the Firehouse (including Quesadillas of course) and Villalobos was a great speaker - he read the first paragraph of Quesadillas in Spanish and then the first page or so in English. The conversation ranged across Mexican politics and the writing process and was really fascinating.
